The Future Pensions Act: communicating with head and heart

The Dutch pension landscape is undergoing significant changes. With the introduction of the Future Pensions Act (WTP), the current system is shifting to a new, more modern one. For pension providers, this means not only a legal and administrative transition, but also, and especially, a communication challenge for their pensioners. We spoke with Judith van Leeuwen, Sales Director at Yource, about what this change entails and how Yource can provide support.

From system change to human conversation

The transition to the new pension system is technically challenging, but the biggest challenge lies with the individual behind the pension. How do you explain to pensioners what this change means for *them*? How do you prevent confusion, concerns, or even panic?

During the WTP transition, there are multiple communication touchpoints: an initial general announcement, an explanation of the new calculations in the transition uniform pension overview (TUPO), and personalized communication tailored to each individual's situation. Clear, accessible communication helps pensioners understand what is happening. Without jargon or detachment.

It's not just about sharing information, but about building trust. pensioners don't just want to know *what* is changing, but, more importantly, that they are well guided through what this means for them.

Yource's Role: Human Connection as a Cornerstone

Yource supports pension providers during this transition with well-trained customer contact teams. Employees speak in clear language, recognize emotions, and can easily explain complex information. This allows them to reassure and guide pensioners through the transition.

Smart technology enhances this work. With Yava employees gain direct access to up-to-date knowledge via Knowledge Assist, lessons learned from previous transitions can be utilized via Coach Assist, and individual pensioners data can be quickly linked via Agent Assist. The result: conversations are flawless, efficient, and personal.

We bring calm to the hustle and bustle. Pensioners need to feel heard, especially now, with everything changing.

Flexible Solutions for Peak Periods

The WTP leads to periods of high demand for inquiries and communication. Yource can quickly scale capacity up or down, depending on the need. Whether for a few months or longer periods, Yource has a pool of trained employees with the right certifications and knowledge.

Case Study: Collaborating for Clarity

Yource manages pensioners contact for an active pension fund. Generic questions about the WTP are already being received, partly due to media attention surrounding the transition. By analyzing and documenting these questions, the knowledge can be utilized for future transitions. Supporting webinars and workshops is also on the agenda, ensuring pensioners remain well-informed.

Ready for the Future

The transition to the WTP is an opportunity to structurally improve pensioners contact within the pension sector. By listening carefully, communicating clearly, and showing empathy, greater understanding and trust will develop between funds and pensioners.

With the right balance between people and technology, Yource ensures that pension funds are ready for the future and that pensioners know where they stand. Today and tomorrow.
